This
week saw Noffla (National Off-licence Association) hand out its annu Prizes were awarded after a blind taste off by journalists John Wilson (Sunday Tribune) and Tomas Clancy (Sunday Business Post & Wine Republic 2004) from wines short listed by a panel of WSET diploma holding Noffla members after they had blind tasted a larger group . Prizes were awarded in New World and Old World Categories and by price within that. We'll be tasting the overall red and white winners and one of the under €8 winners on the show. Overall White wine of the Year was Dopff & Irion "Les Murailles" Riesling 2002, €18.39 and also winner of the Old World White under €20. Overall red Wine of the Year was Carmen Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2003, €13.49 and it was also New World Red of the Year under €14. New World under €8 winner was Torres San Medin Sauvignon Blanc 2004, €7.99. All wines should be stocked by Noffla members. A full list of winners can be
